Roy and Dale
These folks, plus other Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Collectors Association members were in the Registration Room to help everyone get registered for the festival. For those who registered early, they helped locate festival packets for festival attendees.
If there were any questions about the festival to be answered or you needed help in any way, they were the ones to ask.
Many thanks to all of our Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Collectors Association members and the Roy Rogers Festival Committee for making it a memorable 25th Anniversary for the 2008 Roy Rogers Festival!
Also in this room, there were very nice items offered by our Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Collectors Association for purchase.

Official Officers
Our transportation Officer for many years was Mr. Ray Eldridge. 2008 was his last Roy Rogers Festival, as the Lord called Ray home. Our dear friend and festival committee member passed away December 26, 2008; after a short illness. Ray was a super guy and everyone will miss him.
Ray drove a special limousine styled vehicle to and from the big city airports to pickup and deliver our Guest Stars to the festival each year.
We schedule the arrival and departure times of each Guest Star's plane as close as we can so the driver only has to make one or two trips to the airports to pick them up and take them back to the airport for their return fight home.
The official lawmen, or so-called peacekeepers for the 2008 Roy Rogers Festival were Marshall Jim Grant and his son, Deputy Mike Grant. They made sure everyone conducted themselves properly in a safe, pleasant manner and made sure those aunery ombres stayed out of town. They did have their hands full a few times, but mainly, their role as peace officers were easily maintained.
The Roy Rogers Festival Committee appeciates your dedicated service and say "Many Thanks Pardners" for a fantastic job!

Many Roy Rogers and Dale Evans fans came early for a fun-filled evening for the "Early-Bird Reception" on Wednesday evening, June 4th. There were lots of food and we all had a chance to meet and visit with our honored guest stars and special guests on a more person level. This year was very special as we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of our Roy Roy Rogers Festival. We welcomed back some of the festival's favorite guest stars and special guests to help celebrate the occasion.
The 2008 Roy Rogers Festival *Early-Bird Reception* featured the many talents of festival regular, Bill Sanders. Col. Bill sang with much feeling and straight from the heart, as he performed each song. Roy and Dale's son-in-law, "Jon Patterson" (Dodie Rogers-Patterson's husband) mesmerized us with his musical talents and melodious voice. What a great entertainer he is! Loved his patriotic guitar! Jon performs with a band back home in Alabama.
The multi-talented and festival Special Guest Entertainers, "KG and the Ranger", from Madison, Wisconcin, gave us just a taste of their award-winning talents in the Hospitality Center, 'Poolside'.
We all enjoyed the wonderful entertainment while getting acquainted with other Roy and Dale fans, and rekindled those friendships we established in previous years at the annual Roy Rogers Festival.
You missed out if y'all weren't at the 2008 Early-Bird Reception and the first evening of the "Roy Rogers Festival Family Reunion".
Colonel Bill was a good friend of Roy Rogers for many years. He knew him well and performed for Roy and Dale at their home in Apple Valley, CA many times.

These are just a few of the dealers who come annually to display their products and different wares for the Roy Rogers Festival in Portsmouth. There are many wonderful dealers who come faithfully each year. Some have been here ever since we started the festival in 1983.
We greatfully thank each of our dealers for attending each year so faithfully and bringing their products, wares and displays. Without your presence, we acknowledge the annual Roy Rogers Festival here in Portsmouth, would not be the same. Again, many thanks to you all for your loyalty!!
