Wednesday, August 3, 2011 - Time: 8:00pm
(Many will come early and join us for a fun-filled evening! There will be lots of food and a chance to meet and visit with our honored guest stars and extra special guests on a more personal level. This year we'll celebrate Roy's 100^th birth date. The 2011 Roy Rogers Festival *Early-Bird Reception* proudly features the many talents of festival regular, "Col. Bill Sanders". Col. Bill sings with much feeling and straight from the heart, as he performs each song.

Roy and Dale's son-in-law, "Jon Patterson" (Dodie Rogers-Patterson's husband) will mesmerize us once again with his musical talents and melodious voice. Jon will perform along with the other entertainers nightly. He's a great entertainer, with excellent showmanship! Jon is a member of "The Natchez Trace Band", back home in Alabama.

We'll enjoy the wonderful entertainment while getting acquainted with other Roy and Dale fans, and rekindling those friendships we established in previous years at the annual Roy Rogers Festival. It's never too early to saddle up your "Trigger" or "Buttermilk" and make plans for *2011 Roy Rogers Centennial Celebration "Festival*, August 3-6, 2011, Portsmouth, OH at the Holiday Inn Hotel. Authentic Stage Coach and Wagons
(Mr Art Postlethwait, Cambridge, OH native and former IPRA and MSRA champion cowboy performer, has kindly agreed to bring his authentic western stagecoach and wagons to Portsmouth and celebrate Roy's 100^th birth date party with us. He wiill be offereing rides to all the fans. Bring your little buckaroos and buckarettes and let them experience "the rides of necessity" by many families and individuals who traveled across the wide plains of the old west. It'll be an experience each of us won't forget!)

Autographs and Photos with the Stars
(Many festival fans use the memorable Roy Rogers Festival program and collect all of the Guest Stars, Special Guests and Entertainers' autographs. Then, they have someone take pictures of them and their favorite guest stars. It will be a very special souvenir program this year, documenting Roy's 100^th birth date.)

Movie & Film Room (Fans may watch Roy & Trigger, Dale, Gabby, Pat Brady, the Sons of the Pioneers; plus some of your favorite B-Western Stars on the big screen in the mornings and afternoons.)

(Be out in front of the host hotel early for an informal drive out to see the house and visit the church, and what was then the school where Roy attended.)

Great Entertainment
(Great singing and musical entertainers will perform for the 2011 Roy Rogers Festival. Local super-talents included our own "Col. Bill Sanders".

"Jon Patterson", Roy and Dale's son-in-law, will once again, astound us with his fabulous musicial talents and wonderful voice, during the festival.

Roy's son, "Dusty Rogers" will bring his Roy Rogers Jr Show from Branson, MO on Friday evening for a special performance at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts (time: 7:30pm

Other artists and musicians will join in the musicial entertainment and nightly jams.

Roy Rogers Puppet Show
Friday, August 5, 2011 - Hospitality Center - Time: 200pm

(Time permitting, Jon and Dodie Rogers-Patterson will perform their Roy Rogers Puppet Show for the young and young at heart cowboys and cowgirls.)

Hospitality Center with Great Food
(Great food will be in abundance all four evenings in the Hospitality Center. Many volunteers from the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Collectors Association and thier friends provide the delicious food & desserts.)

(Calling all Cowboys and Cowgirls, we expect a huge crowd to join us for "The Roy Rogers Jr Show", featuring Roy's grandson, Dustin Rogers and the High Riders Band.

Costume Contest
Saturday, August 6, 2011 - 1:00pm
(Western fans come dressed in costume as their favorite western character out of the 'Old West' or a live or fictional character out of 'American History". Prizes will be given to the best character in the two catagories. A special panel of judges will be selected for the contest.)

Grand Banquet with the Stars
Scioto Room - August 6, 2011 - Time: 7:00pm
(The banquet will be filled with fans who dress in their best western duds. They'll share in an elegant meal with the Guest Stars and Special Guests. Everyone will enjoy the companionship of our Roy and Dale Extended Family Members during this year's special Roy Rogers "Centennial Celebration" Festival. We'll have the pleasure of visitin' with lots of wonderful folks for a few days.)

Auction Finale
(Right after the banquet, fans will bid on quality items. Proceeds from the auction go toward the Roy Rogers Scholarship Fund.)

Roy Rogers Festival Sponsorships & Festival Program Ads

We are seeking corporate sponsors and offering ads in our Roy Rogers Festival Program. It is a quality program; standard magazine size, on slick paper, done in black and white with colored covers. There will be approximately 1500 printed and they will be sold at the festival and mailed to members.

A $1000. Sponsorship will receive a framed, numbered print of Roy Rogers Boyhood Home by Portsmouth, OH native, George Little, signed by Roy Rogers himself and a full page ad in the festival program.

A $500. Sponsorship will receive a framed, numbered, unsigned print and a full page ad in the festival program.

A $250. Sponsorship will receive a print of Roy Rogers Boyhood Home and a full page ad in the festival program.

All sponsors will be included in our mailings and advertising.

The Sons of the Pioneers was a cowboy singing group founded in 1933 by Leonard Slye (better known by his later screen name Roy Rogers), with Tim Spencer and Bob Nolan. They were soon joined by others and became popular into the 1950s.
The six members who made the Sons of the Pioneers famous in the late 1930s with their close-harmonied western style music were elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980.
Their best known hits include:
Tumbling Tumbleweed & Cool Water.
Tumbling Tumbleweed is considered their 'signature song'.
The group is still in existence today.They are celebrating their 77^th Anniverary in 2011 and perform in Branson, MO and special events.

Roy Rogers Cocktail

A Roy Rogers is a non-alcoholic cocktail made with cola (such as Coca Cola) and grenadine syrup, garnished with a maraschino cherry and sometimes an orange wedge.
In recent years, both this name and the original "Roy Rogers" have given way to the term "grenadini." It is considered an acceptable cocktail drink for children (since there is no alcohol). For this reason, it may also be called a kiddie cocktail or simply a homemade Cherry Coke. It was named for the cowboy actor and singer Roy Rogers.
