| In honor of our former transportation officer Ray Eldridge, who passed away in December 2008, we had a very special team from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office, transporting our Guest Stars. We scheduled the arrival and departure times of each Guest Star's arrival and departure, so the drivers only had to make one or two trips to the airports, and then back for the stars return flight home. The Roy Rogers Festival committee commends these fine officers for their assistance in picking up the stars at the airports, and then making the return trip back for their flight home. ![]()

| The official security officers for the 2009 Roy Rogers Festival were Marshall Jim Grant and his son, Deputy Mike Grant. They made sure everyone conducted themselves properly in a safe, pleasant manner and made sure those aunery ombres stayed out of town. They did have their hands full a few times, but mainly, their role as peace officers were easily maintained.
The Roy Rogers Festival Committee appeciates your dedicated service and say "Many Thanks Pardners" for a fantastic job! |
Early-Bird Reception Wednesday - June 3, 2009 8:00pm |
|
| Roy Rogers and Dale Evans fans came early for a fun-filled evening for the "Early-Bird Reception" on Wednesday evening, June 3rd. There were lots of food and we all had a chance to meet and visit with our honored guest stars and special guests on a more person level. This year was very special as we celebrated the 26th Anniversary and beginning of the next 25 years for our Roy Roy Rogers Festival. We welcomed a great line-up of guest stars and special guests to help celebrate the occasion.
The 2009 Roy Rogers Festival *Early-Bird Reception* featured the many talents of festival regular, Bill Sanders. Col. Bill sang with much feeling and straight from the heart, as he performed each song in the Hospitality Center, 'Poolside'. We all enjoyed the entertainment while getting acquainted with other Roy and Dale fans, and rekindled those friendships we established in previous years at the annual Roy Rogers Festival. You missed out if y'all weren't at the 2009 Early-Bird Reception and the first evening of the "Roy Rogers Festival Family Reunion".
